Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring
my requests to you and wait expectantly.
Psalm 5:3 NLT
Rufus is a Douglas Squirrel who lives in the woods at Acrewood. Almost every morning
he comes to the feeder to see if the birds have left him any sunflower seeds. He sits
in the rhody bush outside the window by my art desk and waits until they leave... or
until he decides to chase them off. He has been so fun to watch!
I really enjoyed drawing Rufus. I was anxious to try out the techniques I learned in the class
I took from Eileen
Sorg combining pen and ink with colored pencil and watercolor. The first
thing I drew was his eye. The whole time I was working on the picture, Rufus was watching
me and begging me to get the rest of him out of that blank paper.
Now maybe Kathy will stop begging me to draw him! (She adores Rufus and named him from
the rufus color on his belly.)
