Let me live forever in your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of your wings!
Psalm 61:4 NLT
This is a picture I have thought about drawing for a long time. We used to have a print of a seagull with the reflection of the waves under its wings.
Living in Crescent City, CA, where there are two lighthouses, I always thought it would be fun to draw a seagull and reflect a lighthouse under each wing. I could never draw or find a picture of just the right gull until Scott, our son-in-law, took the one I used for this picture. (Check out the beautiful photograph on his website.)
I drew the picture to represent a gull that has been out at sea for a period of time and is, at last, returning home to Crescent City. Ironically, just after Scott took the picture, we started our preparations to move to Albany, Oregon.
This picture is, in a sense, a tribute to our friends and all the wonderful memories and people we left behind.
