Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17 RSV
On one of our trips to the San Juan Islands in Washington, I took several
pictures of an old barn south of Anacortes. I wanted to draw the barn with
some flowers in the foreground. I decided to use tulips because of the
abundance of tulips in the area - especially across the channel in Skagit County
- and because Kathy wanted some soft pink flowers instead of the more fuchsia
ones I have usually chosen to draw.
I had fun doing some online research for this one. I had to find out what a horse-drawn
plow should look like!
10/15/15 Update: I now have a companion piece for The Old Tulip Barn, titled Yellow Roses for Mom. It's another view of this same old barn. If you look closely through the door, you can see the horse's collar hanging on the wall.
